Project:

Redevelopment of the Pine Plaza, Bristol, CT.

  Contract: $3,500,000

Brief: Pine Plaza was a 200,000 sf shopping plaza built in the 1960’s. Richards was called upon to redevelop the site to make room for a new 80,000 sf grocery store and strip style shopping center. The project was a fast track and had to be opened in 8 months. This schedule required an eight month completion schedule.

The project included the demolition of the existing building and the underground sub-structure including all old utilities. Richards installed10,000 lf of new utilities, 8,000 ton of new pavement, 10,000 lf of concrete curbing, landscaping and preparation of all new building footprints. Currently the shopping center is made up of a Stop & Shop grocery store, Pub 99, movie house, and about five other smaller stores.
